As we begin another new year together, it is my pleasure to welcome each and every one of you to the 1999-2000 Lions Year.  Lion Walt Hullings will be assisting me with the LIONS ROAR this year.

As we begin our 58th year as a Lions Club, and as we enter the new millenium, I'd like to ask all of you to rededicate yourselves to the concepts of Lionism which unites us in this club.  The motto "We Serve" is not just an idle though, but reality.

This year I have set six "TOUCHDOWN GOALS"  for our club.  The first is to add 5 new members.  This requires each of you to reach out to your friends and neighbors and invite one or more of them to join us.  Secondly, we need to add a new fundraiser.  NO fruitcakes or brooms, but we need an idea from the membership. 

Third, I will be proposing we re-instate the Mount Holly Lions Good Citizen Award.  Fourth, to make an extended effort to reach out to our communities, and to make the name of our group better known.

Fifth, we need to also get more involved with in the Lions District and State Organizations.  And last, I will be proposing that we invite an outstanding High School Senior to visit with us at our meetings, at least once a quarter.

Together we can SCORE A TOUCHDOWN, or 6, enrich our lives and improve our club and our community.  Your extended efforts will be appreciated.
