As a service organization, much of the effort of the Mount Holly Lions Club is guided by the standing committees.  These members devote additional time and energy to help ensure that Lions remain an effective part of the fabric of community life.

• In keeping with the international focus on vision problems, Mount Holly Lions has two committees dealing specifically with sight - Eyeglass Collection and Eye Exams.


• Scholarships to local youth are one of the best ways to generate interest in Lionism and help our community.

House committees keep Lions running.  These members focus on the administrative needs of the club, including Finance, Membership, etc.  To see who's who on these committees, click here.

Lions are known throughout the world for their dedication to fighting blindness  These efforts are particularly important in areas of the world without the economic means to prevent and correct vision problems.

Lions Clubs have attacked this problem through the collection and distribution of used eyeglasses.  These glasses can be refurbished and distributed for a fraction of the cost of new ones, helping millions see.

Charity begins at home, and Lions Clubs understand that concept well.  We have charged ourselves with raising public awareness of eye disease.  These efforts include helping to identify and educate those in and around our community who may be at risk.

Free eye examinations are an important part of that effort.  Through Lions eye exams, thousands of people here at home have helped save their sight.

College scholarships to deserving local high school students has always been one of the most productive ways that the Mount Holly Lions has helped the local community. 

Since it's charter, the Lions Club has provided thousands of dollars towards college costs for students who otherwise might never have had the chance to further their education.
